Mending and Making

Fixed up my old Pegasus, finally, after years of carrying him around in pieces, in boxes. He hangs again, thanks to my handy friend with tobacco-stained fingers and quiet, patient willingness. We introverts love to dive in side-by side. In the midst of community sup, we pinched and pulled, strung and adjusted. And relaxed.

So sweet, a memory of childhood flying through Stormwell. Looking forward to the little ones tugging at his crystal string with wonder, as I do.

And completed a herringbone cowl, a la The Purl Bee. Made from merino-silk and naked (undyed) from the local fibre shop, Shizenbi. The yarn is so soft and luxurious against my skin, wow.

Something about the shape of the stitch just makes me go yum--is it my oceanic ancestors? Either way, this thing makes me feel happy. Thanks to my friend Missy, who gifted me the yarn for my birthday. It is just lovely to make something all for oneself from time to time. Dear friends give us the nudge we need towards self-nourishing indulgent clouds of wool.

Hope you have some in the works for yourself,
k.
