more babies

cooked up another dollie today, one for the teething baby in my life. when she returns from mexico, this chewy love bundle awaits. as i wrapped wool roving to make the head, i thought of my little friend, her joy, brightness and insight. when r. was only a few months old, she appeared gurgling and so so wise in one of my dreams. she reassured me that all would be well and told me to trust. she's been extra dear to my heart every since.

enjoyed the simplicity and speed with which this doll was crafted--yea for two hour projects! i based the teething doll upon one made by my bunting doll workshop teacher, a local (Waldorf) wise woman: a diamond of flannel, stuffed with wool roving, tied up with dental floss. the wood ring is from said teacher--she took apart curtain rings, sanded and oiled them. i appreciate the clean bright white fabric that i had lying around. how the white holds up to teething juices remains to be seen.
