spring rest, part one
glorious trip to the hot springs with samwell, or the old man, as elizabeth zimmerman would say. i did knit the whole way there, along with sun shining and this american life fascination. once there, many restorative hours of warmth, bare skin, slowness, relating.
we came home content. and just in time for snowstorm. and some annual junk food--what's spring break for?
mine officially begins next week but as i did not bake this week and samuel's home, feels like it's already begun. i've been thinking about the diction though: i'd rather enjoy a spring rest than a spring break. there's nothing that needs shattering, intersecting or diverting in my work life. rather, some inward, slow rest time to begin cleansing and to prepare for the garden season.
my intentions for the coming week:
to rest. this may include napping, yoga and copious amounts of craft.
to prepare our garden by planting starts, researching pig plans, pruning the trees and developing a simple garden design.
to fortify with good healthful food-- my cleanse officially begins next wednesday. i feel excited and ready.
to spend structured time with t-dog, who's been, well, barking a lot lately. so, back to working walks.
to paint the kitchen. it's getting closer to being robot-worthy!
tomorrow to school, wee ones, laughter and calm.
hope you have a lovely week,
k.
