wishing
there's something very rich and slightly bittersweet about planting trees that won't mature for years and years and that whisper provisions for generations. not necessarily ours, but someone, some long time from today eating these plums, pears, apricots, peaches and cherries. we rooted thirteen into the ground last weekend. amidst true spring weather--sprinkles, heat, wind--i got to dig and position and water and relish the planting with samwell's folks. funny how working together can ease distance and distill connection. it helps to have something hopeful, and a teeny bit tiring, to do together, doesn't it?
speaking of making wishes, after pruning a few weeks back i brought some cuttings inside and voila! cherry blossoms fill our home. flowers make me happy. which happiness does draw me to continue scheming a luscious garden. luscious. abundant. gorgeous. thick. with flowers and herbs and berries and some food. a swing, a teeter totter, a sand pit. a lawn that never needs mowing. i want. one step at a time. trusting this happiness.
tomorrow is the new moon in aries which is apparently an excellent time for wishing. i dug out the heavy collage box this morn to cut and glue my vision but a drawing came instead.
inspired by sheng, which my cleanse teacher says is the mandarin character for life, the verb. soil: passive wow, staring into space, true relaxation and really good food. stem: purpose, goals. leaf: communion. flower: creative expression. it is a metaphor to guide one's question about living the good life. realised that overall, i need lots of passive wow time. lots. that's why i stare out the window so much. wow. i really appreciate when ancient wisdom validates my inclination.
