living
thank you for being here today, my friends,
has been a long, sad, deep few days. we are well in spite of all presented--growing forest fires, a week of helicopter drumming, and, on friday, a tanker of jet fuel spilled into one of our creeks, poured down into the river and poisoned many. evacuation, a ban on all river usage, fish and birds and others dead. it has been very, very sad. some of the cleanest, purest water in the world, water you could cup into your hand and drink wild, now poisoned.
grateful for my neighbours, who come together and pray, sing, cry together. grateful for each and every time one of us follows a leading and makes something happen. grateful for our creek, my drinking and garden water, clean. grateful so many folks show up year after year to thank the waters here--i do not think this community took the water for granted.
now, we hose off instead of river jump, i wonder how i can help more, we relish the really simple ways of being home.
