whirlwinds
whirlwindy spring time flush and bustle...pruning this and that, mulching and more mulching, sewing lots of littles, dreaming, seed ordering (late but never too--), meals full of visitors and an underlying raw live-ness. in the shadow and light of someone dieing, i feel my feet on the ground precious.
grateful for the touching calls and visits of friends and family, from near and far, holding us, watching for us, saying, i'm here in the uncertain woods we find ourselves walking this spring.
the woods at home are alive with green, the light, yellow green of spring, tall thin cedar and hemlock giants beaming with water-plump moss and lichen. wow! the saturation stops me in my step and i have to stretch my arms overhead in recognition. we are alive in this turning time.
turning towards my garden, too. learning to be there and foster. i look at my wish list and am surprised by all that i planted and began last year. today, learning to prune it well, feast it royally and ensure it all has needed space. just indulged myself in an order of icelandic poppies, forget-me-nots and really skinny, tender green beans. oh, and hot chocolate and peanut butter cookies. more than a few of my favorite things.
hope you are caring for your self and your garden, whatever it is you intend to grow, today.
